Product Sustaining Engineer

CTL Medical Corporation d/b/a CTL Amedica is an ISO 13485 certified, and FDA registered Medical Device Company headquartered in Carrolton, Texas. CTL designs, manufactures, and distributes medical device products and systems for spinal surgeons; specifically implants and devices. 

 

CTL Medical is currently seeking a Product Sustaining Engineer.

Job Description :

Are you a detail-oriented engineer with a passion for ensuring the ongoing success of medical devices? As a Product Sustaining Engineer at CTL Amedica, you will play a vital role in supporting the long-term viability of our industry-leading spinal implants and instruments. You will leverage your technical expertise to analyze, improve, and maintain the quality and functionality of our products throughout their lifecycle.

Duties: 

  • Product Support and Improvement:

    • Analyze customer feedback and field reports to identify opportunities for product enhancements and address potential issues.

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, quality, manufacturing) to develop and implement modifications to existing products.

    • Conduct investigations to determine root causes of product issues and recommend corrective actions.

    • Manage and participate in projects related to product obsolescence, ensuring a smooth transition to alternative components when necessary.

  • Technical Documentation and Maintenance:

    • Maintain and update product drawings, schematics, and other technical documentation to reflect any modifications made to the product.

    • Participate in the development and maintenance of test procedures to ensure products continue to meet performance specifications.

  • Quality and Regulatory Compliance:

    • Support quality assurance activities by analyzing test data and ensuring adherence to established quality standards.

    • Stay up-to-date on relevant regulatory requirements and contribute to maintaining compliance.

Essential skills, experience and qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience in a relevant engineering role, preferably within the medical device industry.

  • Experience with product lifecycle management and sustaining engineering principles.

  • Proficiency in CAD software for design and documentation.

  • Working knowledge of FEA (Finite Element Analysis) a strong plus.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Detail-oriented and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

  • A passion for improving patient care through innovative medical device design.

 

Required Career Level: Entry to Mid-Level
