CTL Medical Corporation d/b/a CTL Amedica is an ISO 13485 certified, and FDA registered Medical Device Company headquartered in Addison, Texas. CTL designs, manufactures, and distributes medical device products and systems for spinal surgeons; specifically implants and devices.

Our CTL Amedica team, a leading innovator in Spine medical device design and manufacturing, is seeking a highly motivated student intern to join our team for the summer break. This is an unpaid internship opportunity, but it offers invaluable experience in a dynamic and rewarding environment.  
​

Duties: 

• Assist engineers with updating, and maintaining CAD components and technical drawings. 

• Contribute to prototype development using desktop CNC mills, FDM, and SLA 3D printers. 

• Execute mechanical testing procedures, including the fabrication of testing fixtures, and subsequently generate comprehensive test reports. 

• Design and create demo instrument sets for sales purposes.  

• Learn and execute all steps of the Design Change Request (DCR) process. 

• Aid in the execution of regulatory submissions with product design control documents. 

• Gain experience with drawing management systems and workflows.

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Currently enrolled in an engineering program (mechanical, biomedical, or similar) 

• Strong understanding of engineering principles and design concepts 

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions 

• Prior experience with CAD software (Creo, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.) a plus 

• Familiarity with 3D printing processes (FDM, SLA) is preferred 

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

• Strong work ethic and a willingness to learn
